freeze them for smooties and overnight oats

CoastalCalm · 23/08/2024 15:09

I’d make a simple compote and freeze portions

invisiblecat · 23/08/2024 15:12

Just freeze them. They can then be used in all sorts of things. My current favourite is crumble.

Jam?

DoublePeonies · 23/08/2024 15:24

Slice and layer with lemon juice and sugar. They will last another day or 2.

Strawberry shortcake

Jam

Thanks all we went for simple pavlova in the end.. I'm not confident about making jam.

Love a pavlova!
But really jam is easy peasy. Next time (though three punnets will probably get you about two small jars so need a bigger haul)!

Strawberry vodka.

The cheaper the vodka the better the final result BTW.

BobbyBiscuits · 24/08/2024 16:20

A baked sponge pudding.

Put treacle/ golden syrup and the sliced strawbs in a layer or two on the bottom of a ceramic dish.

Make a batter with 200g each of butter, sugar, self raising flour and three eggs, and a splash of milk. A tsp of vanilla extract if you have it.

Pour on top and cook at gas mark 4 for about 40 mins. Or until cooked through.

You can put more strawberries on the top after 30 mins cooking as well.

Goes lush with cream or custard.
And it freezes well too!

Store them in glass jars with lids on. They do last ages
