What do you do in the evenings?

I have DH and one DC. After bedtime, there's usually two or three hours of downtime, which DH and I tend to spend separately, him on his laptop and me watching TV. It just feels weird, that we have this time without a child running around, yet we usually spend it doing different things.

Apart from intimacy, how do you and your partner spend your evenings? I suppose I'm wondering if there's something we've missed, or if this is how most couples spend their time.

Watching TV and dying of boredom.

Watch TV, sometimes have a drink together and play music or have an early night and read a book or watch TV in bed. Boring, but that's all we feel like doing at the end of a day running round after the kids.

We usually eat in front of the tv. We’re usually together and if he’s watching something I’m not interested in I’ll read and if I’m watching something he doesn’t like, I scroll. But mainly we find detective dramas we both like.

We chat, watch the weather/birds out the sitting room window, watch tv, doom scroll on separate devices, or head to bed early and read in bed. It's not very exciting but it's cozy and nice. We have separate evenings each for yoga classes.

I work because I have to work around school hours but need to get to as close as 70 hours a week as possible so I work 6-7am 9-3pm and 7-11pm to try and claw hours back. DH sits on the internet or watches shows, plays games.
