Enhanced DBS

Hi anyone know how long dbs are taking at the moment? I’m waiting for mine to start some agency work, I am already on the update service already but they’ve requested a new one as I don’t have the original paper copy

Took about 10 days but was for same organisation but different role/department

They are really varying at the moment. I had three new members of staff who all needed enhanced DBS's. One took around 10 days whilst the other two were stuck at stage 4 (the police check) and it was getting close to the 60 days so was expecting to have to chase the applications with the DBS office. Luckily they both arrived within a day of each other a couple of days before the 60 days were up.

Thank you! It flew through stages 1-3 I. Less than a day! But now on the dreaded stage 4, it was only done Wednesday, but wandered how long they were taking as I need to start my job!

Yes that's my experience and we do a lot of DBS's where I work. It's always Stage 4 and there it sits. I hope yours comes through quickly Op.

My experience is... rare surnames clear quickly, common ones take ages. 18 months ago, mine and DHs took a week, including our foreign address bit which can slow them considerably. Very unusual name. Friends who had lived in the same place for 10+ years took over a month.

I think it also depends on whether you have moved around quite a bit. In my experience those with more addresses take longer as the police have to do checks against each address.

I’ve been at the same address for 6 years, so hopefully not too long x
