Can anyone tell me, as if I am really unintelligent, how my kids can play Minecraft together while one is on the PC and one is on the ps5??

Others may come along more expert than me but I don't think local multiplayer is an option between different device types - there may be an option to both join a world hosted on one of the big servers but I've not tried that.

Apparently it is cross platform.

On PC, If you go on the Minecraft launcher there are a couple of options down the side of Minecraft games to load. People on console (xbox or play station) can't play java edition, so the person on PC would have to load up Minecraft bedrock edition ( on PC it's called Minecraft for Windows). When they are on Minecraft for Windows they should be able to join their friends world, make sure they have thier friend added.

Thanks, they are in the bedrock edition, they have added their sibling but it says the ps5 child is not online (even though they are)

Okay, when they are on Minecraft bedrock edition, once you hit play, they should be taken to a screen that shows 3 sections worlds, friends, and servers. When they click friends if the Ps5 child is in a world or vice versa they should have the option to join their world, if they don't have this option, click add friend in the friends tab and on the left side you should see a name under a qr code make sure they both have each other's names added. Other wise both may just need to resart their systems.
