Things, places, people you can't look at in the same way since an offhand comment....

A couple of weeks back my friend described Strava as "A platform for sad men to live-stream their midlife crises through the medium of distances and speeds".
I used to be quite an avid Strada user (I run) but there's a sad truth to this and I've actually found myself quite put off since her off-hand comment.

Several years back, my DD described a seafood risotto I used to regularly make as "fish rice pudding". She wasn't being mean (just couldn't remember the name) but she was absolutely right. Its not tasted quite as delicious since and its dropped off the menu.

One of my neighbours has a bit of a strange intonation and rhythm to his talking voice. My DH said he always sounds like he's doing beat poetry. This is all I can think of every time I speak with him and its a real struggle not to laugh.

Tell me yours!

Not me as such, but I once told my father in law that using a 'pay to use' cash machine was a tax on the lazy and the unprepared, he told me recently that he's never used one since!
