To take pregnancy test 4 days before missed period....

Long story short, DH and I were ready to start ahem "trying" for Dc num 2. Did deed this month on day 14 and 16 of cycle, supposedly ovulation was day 17 according to my app tracker, I have on average 30 day cycle quite regular.

Well, later in the month I then have a job opportunity which would more than double my salary, and put a scupper in the plans for another baby just yet - if I get the job (fingers crossed!) I want to put off having a baby for a minimum of 6 months- a year.

I have been taking pregnancy tests which have been negative, the most recent one this morning (4 days before expected period) it is an early detection strip test supposedly early detection and said it can detect 10 mgs (not sure if I have remembered that correctly!) If hcg.

Have tried googling but all advice varies

Generally, if I'm not testing positive now - is that a good sign that this month didn't conceive?

I would say so yes. By now i'd imagine you would have seen a faint line if you were, especially on the early detection tests

That is what I am hoping !

If you have a 30 day cycle and ovulated on day 17, and you are currently four days before your period, you are on cd27 or 9dpo. In which case that’s early for even a faint line - it would imply implantation at 7dpo which is fairly speedy!

I’d say your Saturday test would be more of an indicator.

Update- I am on day 29 of cycle, period is due tomorrow or Sunday (although sometimes late because of stress so I suspect it will be this month!) Have tested this morning and still negative.
