Help me find the perfect kettle

Looking for suggestions for a new kettle as ours died this evening. Looking online but I can’t find quite what I want.

Wish list:

  • black or mostly black / would match other black appliances
  • steel or at least not plastic looking
  • stylish and sleek
  • must be part of a range that also sells a 4-slice toaster to match (although I’m not buying that quite yet)
  • made by a well-known, trusted company that I’ve at least heard of before
  • £50-£100 max but cheaper would be brilliant
  • available for UK mainland home delivery

Anyone bought something similar recently that you would recommend? Many thanks!

I ended up buying an Amazon basics kettle which has worked fine

It's brand is something like Umi

I saw my dad giving it a sly inspection out of the corner of my eye but he made no comment

A kettle isn't cutting edge technology so just buy one that takes your fancy

I bought mine because I wanted it delivered the next day so I didn't think too long and hard about it

It's stainless steel

Dualit or Kitchenaid

ClipTap · 21/08/2024 23:14

My previous kettle was a Bosch

Get the Dualit. I've got that and their toaster.

@ClipTap has the idea, I think! Stainless steel, black trim, £27. Really easy to find a matching toaster. Bosch & Russell Hobbs 4-slice are both under £50 on Amazon.

Looking at the Good Housekeeping Institute reviews, they point out that paying a higher price doesn't ensure you are buying a better kettle. Having said that, two kettles tied for joint best, one being the ProCook (available in black, stainless steel and grey) and matching 4 slice toasters available.

They don't seem to sell mine anymore

Not sure I'd want amazon basics written on the side like the one linked above though

Thank you for the guide! Dualit and KitchenAid are too expensive I think. Not liking the Amazon one as it says “Amazon Basics “ on it quite clearly. I’m getting lost on kettles online, have probably looked at too many 😂 I’ll try again in the morning. Thank you all!

I juts did the same. Spent loads on the posh bosch one a.few years ago. Looks good but leaked within a few years. I just went out to teaco and bought a tower basic black kettle..Nice.. light. 20 quid so if it leaks after 2 years I wonr be mightily pissed off. Pretty sure they have matching toasters if that's your thing
