Urgently need appointment with paediatric neurologist (private sector)

Hi,

I'm sorry I'm posting in a rush but can anyone recommend a paediatric neurologist on the private sector?

My 4 year old daughter is having very worrying symptoms but we don't feel our concerns are being taken seriously by NHS professionals (who won't even assess her properly and we have given up fighting for it).

I found a neurologist at Birmingham Women's and Children's Hospital but he doesn't have any appointments available until October even though a month ago I was told his waiting list was 2-3 weeks.

The issue is now urgent and I have turned to Mumsnet to beg for recommendations or pointers. We live in the Midlands but are willing to travel (pretty much anywhere but ideally between Liverpool and Birmingham).

Thank you!

If Midlands try The Spire many consultants work at the QMC Nottinghamas well as privately at The Spire Nottingham

We saw a paediatric neurologist called Dr Antonia Clarke when my DD was unwell, and I highly recommend her. You will be able to find her details online quite easily.

Thank you. Specialising in periventricular leukomalacia (that's the main one), ataxia, dystonia, cerebral palsy or developmental delay.

QMC is a paediatric neurology centre.

I've seen Antonia Clark too for dc1 who I liked . Our case wasn't serious in the end though.

As far as I can tell, Dr Antonia Clarke only works in London at Harley Street. Please correct me if I'm wrong.

Yes, that is correct. We had remote appointments though and then she wrote to our GP and her diagnosis was used to guide the ongoing process within the NHS, and the GP put suggested referrals in, if you see what I mean? We did have video footage we needed her to give her opinion on though, so it was possible to have a remote apt while we waited on the very long list for an NHS paediatrician. We are nowhere near London but would still have travelled if a face to face was essential, as I couldn’t find anyone near us even privately.

Thank you all, I'll try and get in touch with Dr Clarke.
