Just been told that I can’t put a door mat on my new laminate floor. Can anyone help?

I had no idea that I could not put a rubber or latex backed door mat on my new floor. As it is laid to patio doors, I have no idea what to put down. I cannot find any mats that are not backed by rubber. I really can’t believe that there is nothing suitable.

Does anyone know what the solution could be?

My husband has laid a million laminate and vinyl floors and thinks this is ludicrous. What is it that you think is going to happen?

I have a Weaver Green small rug by the back door...it covers the colour change on our floor due to a rubber beached matt. Get the matching non slip under rug thing, stops it slipping

Not sure re laminate but the vinyl planking tends to get a yellow sort of tinge with certain rubber backed mats

Good thing you asked a man. All these women on here really needed the opinion of a man who has no clue. Maybe he needs a new job if he doesn’t know that vinyl discolours with rubber matting.

You said your husband was reading the box and that’s how he realised it’s vinyl. How did neither of you know what type of flooring you have ordered are are paying to have fitted?

Totally different laying it for a living though, it definitely discolours LVT over time/in sunlight if it isnt the right backing 😂

If it changes colour under the mat does that even matter as it’s under the mat ?
