Carpet help

There is a dreadful smell coming from one of my carpets. I initially thought one of the children had weed on it but I can’t get rid of the smell at all-I don’t know how but now I’m thinking it may be an animal of some sort! We don’t have any pets and have shampooed and used freshener but the smell will not go. Does anyone have any tips please? It’s a fairly new carpet (less than two years) so we really don’t want to replace it. Thank you!

Try steam cleaning it. You can hire them

I would pour dry bicarbonate of soda on it and leave it over night l. It will absorb any smell

Could it be coming from under the floorboards? Dead rat perhaps?

We have a leak from the en-suite shower!! My husband noticed the skirting board on the shared wall had slightly warped and has pulled back the carpets in the bedroom and the floorboards are wet. It’s in my wardrobe too. I’m just glad it’s not an animal that’s got in, weed everywhere and then died somewhere!
