Dyeing clothes!

Hiya,

Made a boo-boo when ordering my sons school trousers - got grey instead of black and now they don't have the black in stock in his size. They M&S school trousers. Can I use one of those dylon things on them in the washing machine? Will it 'take' on school trousers?!

What's the fabric made of? If it's cotton or cotton/viscose blend then it should work but not if is synthetic blend polycotton or polyester

Ah bugger! They're polyester and viscose! Thanks tho!

Even if you got a synthetics dye it may well not take because the fabric is coated in Teflon.

Rit Dye do a specific dye for polyester clothing or polyester mix. Dylon wont work anywhere near as well but Rit is a great product.

As a back up - if you know the size Vinted have loads of school trousers - lots with tags
Won't save you loads when you add postage but you should at least get the right size/colour

Just order the correct size online & it should come soon, they are restocking fairly quickly. I wouldn't bother spending additional on clothes dyes which may or may not work.

If they are the Teflon coated trousers, they probably won't take any dye!
