Anyone been to Legoland Windsor recently?

So I’ve just paid (extortionately!) to take the kids to legoland next week. After I booked the tickets, I looked at the FAQ on the confirmation email, and it said I need to book parking too. I’ve booked it but now panicking I don’t have a printer. Do I need to print the Parking ticket off, or will it recognise my registration plate and let me in?

also, any advice on how to make the most of the trip would be greatly appreciated! Thank you!

It should recognise your reg number, but if it doesn't there will be someone there who you can show your booking confirmation to and they'll let you out

May I jump on this to ask a supplementary question?

Does anyone know if priority parking gets you out any faster? I’m not bothered about closeness to the entrance but would pay extra to avoid/ lessen the wait to leave

@Cangar i didn’t even think of that? Is there always a queue to get out or is it just at certain times?

Some of the reviews I read mentioned long queues to leave the car park - not sure how standard that is!

I definitely didn't print anything off for parking, I think it was possibly a qr code on my phone to scan at the gate to leave. I also don't remember queuing to leave. I guess it depends on what time you leave though, we didn't wait until the park closed we as we had a long drive home.

We went several times last year - we always took a printed copy of the parking just in case but it was fine.
With regards to getting out at the end of the- we always left after the park had shut; wanted to get the most out of it considering the cost - the Lego store at the top is still open even after the park closes. By that time the queue out wasn't bad.

Priority parking is not worth it in my experience. It's hardly any closer to the park and I've never queued to get out of the standard car park even at closing time.

We went 2 weeks ago. No idea about parking but a few tips:-

  1. Start up the back of the park and work your way back. The bigger / busier rides up the back are quiet first thing and you can get on them straight away easily.
  1. If you can afford it definitely pay to upgrade to at least the cheapest fast pass. It queues for you and then you can get on the ride any time after it's queued. We got on so many more rides than we would have otherwise.
  1. Take food with you. It's extortionate and not great quality and we were really glad we had a packed lunch. Plenty of places to sit and eat it.

Don’t leave bang on closing and you won’t queue to get out the car park. Either leave before or hang around in the shop etc for a bit after.
Sky Lion is an amazing ride but the queue gets looooong so I would suggest going to that first. The park let you in the main entrance from 930am so you can queue at the gates to the park if you want to really get ahead of the crowd. As previous poster said, food and drink is awful and so expensive so take your own and try and avoid the snack stands - £5 for a bog standard Mr Whippy (not even including sauce or a flake)!
Enjoy - I love it there despite the crowds!

Take a packed lunch & eat it whilst watching one of the shows down in Heartlake City. The pirate show is the best one.
Download the app & monitor the queue times.

No one checks parking at legoland. At exit time there are way too many cars, so they open all barriers.

ronswansonstache · 08/09/2024 14:20

We're off on our first Legoland visit in a couple of weeks & had a parking question. We have booked a midweek overnight stay with entry to the park for a free second day.

Our booking says that we have parking included for the date of our arrival. Do we also have book parking for the second day (we will stay all day, not leave on checkout time). The tickets don't seem to be clear on this.

Sorry if it's a silly question, read some horror stories about lots of add on charges and want to be prepared!
