London with a guide dog

Traveling to London soon with a friend who has a guide dog. We need to get from Richmond to Piccadilly Circus on the train/tube.
Guide dog can use stairs and lifts but not escalators. So all stations will need to either have stairs or a lift.
I am finding conflicting information online about if these stations have lifts.
Can anyone help?

Wimbeldon will be fine, you should also be able to transfer at Earls Court, but the Picadilly line is a deep line and most stations don't have stairs. I'm almost certain that Picaddily Circus relies on escalators, but you could get off at Green Park and walk along the strand.

I'm not 100% on this, but hopefully other posters will know one of the stations, if not all and correct me.

Richmond has stairs. I'm almost definite that Piccadilly Circus has escalators. Stations are close together in that area though so you should be able to find another station nearby that is steps only.

Where are you going? We may be able to help with a different station.

Richmond has a shortish flight of stairs - I know there are some lifts, but not sure if they serve every platform. There are definitely no escalators.

Piccadilly Circus is not accessible. I would get off at Green Park instead - it isn’t very far to walk from Green Park station to Piccadilly Circus, less than half a mile (assuming your friend is happy to walk along the streets in London)

Where exactly are you aiming for? Because the best answer might be to travel in to an escalator free centrally located station, then get a bus.

Or go Richmond, District Line, change at Turnham Green to Piccadilly Line (you only have to go to opposite side of the platform), then get off at Covent Garden, which has lifts (stairs if broken) and I'm pretty damned sure has no escalators.

It's not far to walk from there to Piccadilly, but allow a bit of time as it can be quite crowded.

Years ago at a station I used for commuting there was a guide dog that I saw their often and the staff used to close off the escalator and hold people so that the person and guide dog rode on their own.

Not sure how this is arranged

We are going to the Comedy Store

Go to Covent Garden instead of Piccadilly. Covent Garden has lifts and is around 10-15 minutes walk from the comedy store.
