I had a message from a General in the Ukrainian army recently (I thought he'd be too busy to chat but apparently not). I handed over my phone to my Ukrainian colleague to speak with him one lunchtime. But he forgot how to speak any Ukrainian and couldn't answer her. I was already to move there too.

Just watch out that he doesn't ghost you and go on a very very important business trip.

If he gets hurt on that trip, he will send you pictures (thanks to Getty Images) of someone in hospital and he will need you to pay his bills. At this moment, remind him of his business investors who can stump the bill.

I'll point him in the direction of my imposing American relative who conveniently happens to be a doctor.
