Get obsessed with something. It was little statues, figurines, I've been collecting them at carboot and putting them round my living room and on a shelf

Today I want to tidy up and I've switched from loving them to hating them and they're just making everything look messy and I want to just donate the lot of them so everything can be CLEAR

But I know I would do the same thing in a few months

I always get obsessed with something and collect it then hate the clutter and donate or sell

Yes! Currently it’s garden plants so at least it’s outside and ha,f the time I. The dark!!

I’ve had loads in the past and I suppose I’ve wasted shed loads of money on collection things or buying things to help me learn more about my topic of choice.

I’m quite good at trivia quizzes, I know something unusual about a lot of random things.

Yep. Phases of hyperfocus and passion, followed by a total disinterest. I have gradually declutterred and tried to focus on what I love long term. I would always advise asking someone to help with jobs like this, especially with neurodivergence. It helps to have someone objective to go through stuff and keep you on task.

Yes,, but I am fortunate with my hyperfocus in that it usually lasts long enough for me to complete whatever task I'm on. Last but one was writing a particular book - I finished the whole thing, an entire novel, in 6 weeks (plus going to work, looking after the house etc etc). Most recent one was building some furniture - I ran out of oomph half way through the project but managed to force myself to finish. Looks lovely now and I don't need to do it again for YEARS.
