How to make chicken nuggets?

My son is severely autistic and has lots of issues eating food. He ate real chicken breast nuggets yesterday in a pub. I was delighted! I want to replicate at home. I don't have a deep fat fryer but would be willing to buy an air fryer as he would be finally eating actual chicken breast rather than reformed chicken. Can anyone give me any tips?

Coat chunks of chicken breast in flour then egg then seasoned breadcrumbs, spray with oil and bake in the oven on parchment paper .

I think you could buy some breadcrumbs, either the orange ones or panko ones.

Lay out three little bowls, one with flour, one with whisked egg and one with breadcrumbs. You cut the chicken up and dip each piece in flour, then egg, then breadcrumbs - into the oven or air fryer, job done. You can add a bit of oil or some flavour to the breadcrumbs or flour, but you have the basics to work with.

3 bowls, 1 flour, 1 egg, 1 breadcrumbs
dip in order and spray with oil
So easy.

Sainsbury’s (and most stores) do cheap tubs of breadcrumbs. My lot prefer the paler breadcrumbs from there, but there’s golden and panko too. (A wild alternative is crushed up corn flakes)

(minus the parchment paper in an air fryer - they can move and burn )

Thank you. I'll give it a go. I don't know whether he'll eat the breadcrumbs, I think batter would be better for him but I don't know if that is possible in an air fryer ?

dice chicken breast, put into a bowl with some mayonnaise (start with a teaspoonful as you can add more if you want).

Dredge with flour, breadcrumbs or crushed plain crackers. Into a hot oven or bbq with some oil over or pan with hot oil. Six minutes on one side, four minutes on the other. Should be done by then.

were they battered?

get a deep frying pan and a couple of cm of oil in the bottom and do it that way, batter is easy
150g plain flour
1 tsp baking powder
salt
250ml ice ice cold soda water

whisk a little, don't worry if a little bit lumpy but you don't want to mix out the bubbles. Coat the chicken chunks and drop into the hot oil

They were battered. But if I can get him to eat healthier then I will. I might investigate the breadcrumb oven method and see what happens
