How do you stay slim?

I'm currently overweight by 2 stone. This 2 stone has been the bane of my life and I can't seem to drop it. I absolutely hate exercise, but go on regular dog walks every day twice a day, and albeit I work from home, I will manage to get 10k steps in a day. I hardly eat during the day and tend to just have a small lunch and small dinner and yet I still cannot seem to get rid of the weight. Most of it is tummy and arm fat. I know I should be exercising but I really do not enjoy it.

How old are you? It gets harder (not impossible but harder) to lose weight after 40 and menopause looms.
TBH walking the dog is unlikely to make a huge difference unless you are walking at a very fast pace (I also walk mine twice a day but half of that is leisurely pace and the other half chasing her as she bolts after rabbits!)

But the reason I'm slim..and staying slim in my 50s is by not eating any 'treat' food. I eat quite a lot..but most of it is very healthy..tons of veg, very little in the way of carbs, no cakes or chocolate or comfort food. It's a pathetically small quakers porridge for breakfast, lunch is salad or home made soup, dinner is jacket spuds, maybe pasta or home made lasagne with more veg.

The second anything sweet passes my lips the weight starts to creep up :/ It didn't when I was 20 but now, small portions and no junk is the only way !

Bread is a big one for me.. I love crusty bread, and cheese but it quickly makes the scales go up. It sucks! I also hate the gym/exercise stuff and would rather forego nice food than do that!
