Just wondering coz I've been quite ill 3 times already this year with just viruses. I do have a child. But I'm getting fed up of it and wondering if this is normal.

Once a year I get a cold, usually. No days off for sickness last year (teacher).

Not a neurotic cleaner though so probably boosting my immunity regularly 😂

we are in the 3rd episode of D&V this year…. Utterly depressing! Family of 5. Feels like someone is always poorly.

Underlig · 22/08/2024 09:27

Never sick with viruses, etc.

1woodpecker · 22/08/2024 09:27

Never ever get D&V though interestingly

In term time I normally pick up colds about once/twice a month from my kids. This summer term I had 3 respiratory illnesses which were worse than colds - not sure if any were Covid/flu.

Since the summer holidays have started none of us have been ill.

Maybe once or twice a year. Had a nasty cough and cold just before Xmas last year.. lasted six weeks

and I’ve just got over norovirus.. last time I had that was seven years ago.

im lucky I know, haven’t always been that way, I was ill all the time when my dc were little

Never really. I’ve had one day off work in the last 4 years and it was because I was hungover. I’ve had Covid 3 times and wasn’t sick enough not to work, recovered fast and only felt mildly off. I have been around sooo many sick people and never seem to catch it. Even get them to breath on me and give me a hug cos a little dose of something so I can shiver in bed and snooze sounds like bliss.

But basically I’m very lucky so far to never really catch anything.
