Got on top of it for a few months with magnesium supplements. In addition to ibu. Floored again this month. On two days an hour or so of cramps that have sent me into a hot bath.

My GP has told me to take Buscopan for cramps. I haven't tried one yet to know if it helps.

DD takes mefenamic acid.

Another vote for Buscopan.

Cocodemol works very well for me. But it also makes me feel quite dizzy so I only use it for over-night.

My GP prescribed Tranexamic Acid which is also very good. I wouldn't say it's as good as cocodemol but I don't find any side effects so I can use it during the day (as well as paracetamol).

I also find that changing my diet around my period helps a little too. I don't drink alcohol, I don't eat meat, I don't eat/drunk dairy. But I also eat and drink very intuitively so I listen to what my body's telling me it needs - if that's a big greasy bag of chips, so be it 🤣

The only non-drug things that work for mine are exercise and an orgasm.

Thanks all. Not very heavy. Just on and off very painful.

I have read that naproxen is good for period pain, but I've not tried it myself. It's prescription only I believe.

Sorry to hear you're suffering.

Buscopan. It's an antispasmodic so stops anything cramping.

Thank you all for replying. Cramps have gone now. Usually an hour of them being unpleasant, but manageable. This was three hours of agony. What I hadn’t done was get ahead of any pain by taking an ibu first thing.

Will look into Buscopan. Have to take prescription meds so always cautious about interactions. Thanks again.
