What jobs are analytical and have minimum client facing roles?

1. almost got sacked from last job for failing out client facing engagement
2. got told by old boss to avoid sales, project management etc. or any job where I need good social skills

Where does that leave me?

I work in a finance support/‘back office’ role that I enjoy, is well paid and interesting but minimal client engagement, and social skills are less important.

Software engineer, where poor comms skills are put up with more easily. You can often get on with the tasks in front of you, but the more 'successful' types often get further ahead due to better people skills.

Compliance or accounts would work.

Accounts work in public sector or some industry jobs would be a good idea.
