Help me compile my road trip playlist

Going on a camping road trip this week and thought since there have been some awesome music threads on here, I would ask you to hit me with your favourite BANGERS to put on my playlist (we're looking at minimum 5 hours to our destination so that's a lot of music...)

Favourite decade for music is 90s but like other decades too. Less familiar with 2012 onwards (kind of stopped listening to the radio around then) Prefer pop/rock/dance, but open to suggestions!

From my drive playlist:

303 - Kula Shaker - already mentioned, I know. We're up and down the 303 every month & play this every time,
Pumping on your stereo -Supergrass
Bat out of Hell - Meatloaf
Suicide Blonde - INXS
Jessica - Allman Brothers
Gimme All Your Lovin' - ZZTop
Free Bird - Lynrd Skynrd
Silver Machine - Hawkwind
Get It On - Robert Palmer

Best Listened to at top volume. 😁

You gotta have Walking in Memphis by Marc Cohn

And also Disco Inferno (can't remember who that's by)

LilacCadillac · 18/08/2024 12:49

If you have Spotify it has an AI feature for generating a playlist based on your description.
I pasted in your OP and it gave me this playlist which is influenced by my favourites so yours will be different.

Thank you!! I've put most of these in... mostly the ones I know for now, the ones I don't I've noted down to listen to and see what I think.

I use Youtube music rather than Spotify, I think I can share playlists from there but I'd have to figure out how!

Bomfunk MC - freestyler
Run DMC - it's like that / it's tricky
Beastie boys - no sleep til Brooklyn
Rammstein - Du Hast
Metallica - Master of Puppets
Pendulum - Tarantula
Drop kick Murpheys - I'm shipping up to Boston

Recently got back from a 3 hour road trip and these tunes got turned up loud!

Threewheeler1 · 18/08/2024 13:46

Led Zeppelin, Immigrant Song
Massive Attack, Unfinished Sympathy
Laura Brannigan, Gloria
New Order, Kiss & Vanishing Point (and anything from Technique album!)
The Cure, Walk (so you can do mouth trumpet 😄)

Have a lovely trip OP!
Love making journey playlists, best time to listen to music!🙌

Threewheeler1 · 18/08/2024 13:56

I forgot Sometimes by Gerry Cinnamon - love that song but you have to play it really loud!

I've put Wuthering Heights, Is This Love and Right By Your Side on.

Also Walkin on Broken Glass, which is Annie on her own.

Have just seen this after I posted my suggestion. Mine was Fasten Your Seatbelt as the ultimate Pendulum full volume. Tarantula good too. Great to see people are loving a bit of Pendulum on their driving playlist ☺️

Whatwaswrongwiththatusername · 19/08/2024 01:40

Would actually also add in the album Amo - Bring Me The Horizon (not as screamy as when I first saw them live supporting someone else maybe 18+ years ago). Oh god that has suddenly made me feel soooo old 👵🏻 I've not been able to drive for quite a while now tho so miss my long drives (5 hours) I used to do regularly. Found my old iPod a while ago and the music i had on it reminded me of the long drives years ago! It hasn't been updated since about 2011/12 now but some great stuff on it, but that too was brilliant for driving years before I used Spotify.
