Are you a list maker?

We love lists in our house.
Even the little DCs love to sit and make a list (very cute, often include things like
*Play with Scruffles ~ not pet real name
*Go play in garden
*Have ice lolly)

Interested to know because a friend is a fellow list maker, but her other half scoffs at her lists and makes fun of her (yes, he isn't a very nice person in many, many other ways) so she was surprised to learn my DH loves a list as much as we do!

I write lists on my phone more often than not, but DH is still very much a pen and notepad person.

My lists have lists

Oh yes, me too 😀

Years ago I was sent on a time management course and have made good use of lists since then, they absolutely have to be on paper though, apps are no good for me.

I don't think they lead to over reliance and forgetfulness at all, they clear the mind and stop you feeling overwhelmed so you are able to switch off in the evenings.

The most useful lists are holiday packing ones, you can see what you don't use and didn't need and next time leave it behind.

We are a very listy household.

I have one for things I want to get through each day, subdivided into work and rest-of-life. Then one for things we want to do connected with our favourite outdoor activities, one for things which need doing round the garden and house, one for slightly longer term admin (eg check isas, investigate cheaper car insurance) and various other ad hoc ones.

Our adult DC are list makers too. One used to make very cute lists, as mentioned by a pp.

Occasionally I'll do something which isn't on a list, but then write it on so I can have the satisfaction of crossing it off. Does anyone else do that?

Lists keep me sane. I use the iPhone notes app but also the Microsoft to do app.

when i’m subconsciously getting a bit overwhelmed by something I get anxious and a bit shouty.

once I’ve recognised this I find writing a list or two to help to plan and organise whatever it is that is overwhelming me instantly calms and resets me.

@FourChimneys I think everyone does this.

I have posted about this before, but the Germans so enjoy and use lists that they have a specific word for ‘taking pleasure in crossing things off a listk

DH and I are big into list crossing off fun

I sometimes write a list and then organize it by important and urgent. So important and urgent get done first, then important but not urgent, then not important but urgent, then not important or urgent. It helps to focus me

Hello, my people!

I LOVE lists. I use my iPhones Notes app for EVERYTHING.

Life got better when I realised you could change the colours etc too on there.

This is my favourite list. (I've removed everything so you can't see them!) I add to it constantly! Never forget anything I need to do now:

I love lists too. Since I hit peri I rely on them even more. I'm actually considering asking for a digital notebook like a Remarkable for my birthday. Has anyone used one or similar? It's hard to write notes on my computer when I'm in a meeting sharing a screen and I like to be able to sync notes between my computer and phone (so I always have my lists with my/ can edit at will).
