Smoke Alarm Help

I moved into a new build back in march which had newly installed hardwired smoke alarms with a back up 9v battery. Since then they have randomly went off maybe once or twice a month (typically in the early hours of the morning!) with no obvious cause. I’ve changed all the batteries, persimmon have been out and changed the actual alarms and then again to check the wiring out and all good there. I hoover them out and make sure they are free of dust debris but we still seem to get the odd false alarm.

Is this normal for hardwired smoke alarms? Previously I just had battery operated ones which were fine (aside from the annoying beeping when the battery needed changed!)

No. I had hard-wired ones and they were fine. Although I think with hardwired ones they are interlinked, so if one goes off they all go off. (I may be wrong about this!) so pinpointinh the 'dodgy' one can be difficult.

Yes these are all interlinked so it’s been difficult to pinpoint. They’ve all been replaced too but it’s still happening which is baffling. It sounds silly but I’m constantly on edge because of it and I’ve not had a proper nights sleep in weeks worrying about the flipping smoke alarms
