Dd2 is currently rummaging through my collection of costume jewellery from the 2000's

It's punctuated by many "mother, wtf's..." and "did you actually wear those?" 🤣

It's bringing back so many memories!

The aim of the rummage was to maybe find earrings to wear tomorrow but so far I'm thinking I'd feel like a twirp wearing them now 🙈

They look quite 80s to me! Give it a few years, they will come back into fashion and she’ll be begging you for them. There is a 90s “vintage” shop near us. That made me feel old! My DC are rocking my old parachute pants and band t shirts 😂

I used to wear a lot of Mikey jewellery... mainly diamante 😂

Definitely not 80s - all bought by me, mainly in Topshop and Miss Selfridge, in the 2000s. They do have an 80s vibe to them though.

The sparkly ones didn't get quite so many wtf's, & I can't find my feather ones anywhere 🤔

they remind me of when there was a brief nu-rave trend, around about the time skins was popular (2008/9?). I had a house party at uni with that theme...remember those weird "sunglasses" that were just plastic lines, and lots of coloured tights with denim miniskirts!

edited because now I think about it, moustache and owl were a bit later, maybe early 2013, when it became all about hipsters...

@easylikeasundaymorn I wasn't really into necklaces (still not) - I did have an owl necklace though. Goodness knows where it went 🤷‍♀️
