Colonoscopy Plenvu Help Please!

I've got a colonoscopy booked for 1.00pm this Monday. I've been given Plenvu to take for bowel prep. The instructions tell me to take the first sachet at 3.00pm tomorrow (Sunday) and then the remaining 2 sachets at 6.00am on Monday morning.

I'm really afraid to take the Plenvu on Monday morning in case I soil myself on the way to the appointment. I will be travelling by taxi with my adult son for support as I don't have any alternatives. Could I start the process earlier tomorrow and take all the sachets in one day?

Any advice/suggestions truly gratefully received.

The 'effects' should be over after a couple of hours, so if it's a short journey you should be back in control well before then. You'll have a better idea once you've taken first sachet. Maybe wear a sanitary pad, and take wet wipes with you as you'll feel more in control. It's also helpful if you stick to a liquid diet the day before.

The sachets aren't palatable in the slightest, so worth giving yourself enough time to drink them, never mind deal with the aftermath!

Thanks @Eileanach

I'm just really concerned because I'll be taking a taxi with a "strange man" driver which is a bit embarrassing anyway and the poor guy obviously doesn't want his taxi soiled.

Totally understandable, but the plenva doesn't hang about. It'll start working within the hour, you'll have an interesting 90 minutes and then it calms down fairly quickly. By that stage, you've nothing left to pass. Any more info is probably too much! And prepare for the day after to be a right-off, sedation takes a while to leave system.

My understanding is you do need to take prep close to the procedure or run the risk of not being completely clear as your body generates more waste. I recently had an afternoon procedure after taking prep at 6am and I promise you it was fine. I could have safely travelled much earlier. I’d barely finished the prep before it took effect and both doses acted in same way so if it’s a bit slower for you maybe you could go for a bit earlier (e.g. start at 5 not 6) but I wouldn’t adjust more than that as you definitely don’t want to have to repeat the whole thing.
The prep was not as bad or dramatic as I’d expected from online accounts. Lemonade and a wide straw really helped to drink it; that aspect was fairly easy to my surprise. On advice of nurse I also sucked a worthers original before taking it.

Thanks everyone. So it looks like I'll be OK to take it at 6am without having an unfortunate accident in the taxi!
