As Summer is drawing to a close, what are your favourite and least favourite months of the year? And am I the only one who likes January...?

Here's mine from favourite to least favourite:

1: October
2: January
3: February
4: July
5: August
6: September
7: May
8: April
9: December
10: November
11: June
12: March

Anyone else hate August? I don't know why but I find it a bit depressing. You should enjoy it but you know the night's are drawing in and the summer is almost over. I can never enjoy it. I seem to tread water until September. It feels a bit like dusk.

10. February 11. January 12. October

December is best because it's Christmas, November is next because it's the run up to Christmas. Followed by the nice weather and summer holidays.

Hate October as I loathe the while halloween vibe with a passion, followed by January as it lasts 97 days, my sister died in January and it's the end of the festive season.

As you can tell, I don't like heat! Love January - quiet, low key, calm after the Christmas maelstrom.

January. At least Christmas is over for almost a year.
October
November
December. I hate Christmas so, so much.

I'm not in agreement with most of this as I prefer the colder months but 💯 agree about Xmas. It's a stupid overrated holiday and every season I find myself counting down the days till it is over.

The rest I dislike for various reasons mostly related to darkness / dankness, so they can all be dumped in one bleak little pile in no particular order. I really like Christmas, so that's an outlier. If I was rich I would like all the months as I wouldn't spend them in the UkGrin

What!! You've literally got the start of a whole year to look forward to.

Even if you are skint its the one winter month when every single thing is in a sale. Clothes, restaurant's, flights. Plus everyone is doing dry January so you can cadge a lift to the pub and enjoy a drink by the fire.

March - green shoots, new beginnings
April - spring proper has sprung
September- new beginnings again, something new to learn perhaps?
October- start of Strictly, hunkering down ready for winter
May - colour in the garden plus so much light!
December- Xmas!
June - warm but hopefully not hot, weather. Lots of light.
January- the calm after Xmas madness. Time to reflect, recharge batteries. Read Wintering for reasons why I like this month.
July - too hot generally, hay fever. And too many bugs! And the blackbirds stop singing.
November- ok but the long winter is right ahead.
August - the garden is dry brown and crispy, not enough rain. My kids are adults so no summer holiday fun. Although I get nostalgic for it.
February - fed up with winter by this time, also memories of bad events,
