Contraception confusion

After posting yesterday about having to obtain the morning after pill due to being stupid, quite frankly, it's been a big wakeup call that I need to start taking some form of reliable contraception.

However, I'm a bit lost about what to go for. I'm 35 and breastfeeding. I have endometriosis and have been advised that the copper coil is not recommended for people with this. I've previously tried depo provera and various progesterone pills, all of which have made me bleed continuously despite sticking with them.

I really would like it if I could find an option that prevents periods as much as possible. I really suffer with mine due to aforementioned endo - I bleed for at least two weeks a month and periods leave me anemic and depleted. Also, slightly embarrassed to say I have quite a high sex drive and it's frustrating bleeding so much for this reason as well.

I've toyed with the idea of mirena coil despite hating the prospect of insertion (I find smear tests and internal examinations excruciatingly painful), but I've heard so many horror stories and people saying they've exacerbated their bleeding that it puts me off. Also the whole thing of not being able to just stop taking it if it's not working out etc.

Can anyone recommend a contraception option that suits all of my requirements? I'm feeling a bit stumped and would be so grateful for any suggestions. Thank you.
