Aiden can't do right for doing wrong, I'm crying (silently) laughing. (This is probably one of those times when you have to be here but anyway).
Next door have got workmen in the garden. I can't see the garden or the workmen, all I can do is hear them.
I think there's 3 of them - Aiden, Dave and Len/Ken. Aiden seems to be the whipping boy. Latest overheard conversation:
Dave or Len/Ken: Aiden! AIDEN! Turn the water off.
<indistinct mumbling from presumably Aiden)
Dave or Len/Ken: TURN IT OFF.
<more indistinct mumbling>
Dave or Len/Ken: Turn it on. TURN IT ON
Aiden <back on centre stage>: You just told me to turn it off!
Dave or Len/Ken: Yeah, and now I'm telling you to turn it on.
It's been like this all day. It does seem good humoured but I can just sense Aiden reaching the end of his patience! I only hope he reaches it before I have to go out. I want to shout over the fence and offer Aiden, and no one else, a cup of tea and a custard cream.
