Peri pains or fibromyalgia

No one replied in menopause section so trying here

Are these symptoms I'm experiencing a fibromyalgia or menopause related?
I get random severe pain in various parts of my body that's sooon intense for around 20-30 minutes but then it's like it never happened. This can be anywhere in my body but usually toes, wrists, fingers knees or chest / breast/ head legs

Everyone will be different, but for me peri caused joint pain and stiffness. It was worse after sleep or rest, so getting up out of bed or off the sofa etc. It was more a constant ache than intense bursts that subsided. It was like I'd aged decades in a short period of time. HRT sorted it fairly quickly.

I don't have fibromyalgia so can't give any opinion there.

Thanks for the response. Been on HRT 6 months now and these pains started about 3 months ago

Time for GP visit and possibly a referral to find out what's causing it. Isn't getting older great? 😞

Could be fibro, but might not be- sorry not much help.

Do you have the specific pain points of fibromyalgia?

Bbq1 · 16/08/2024 00:15

I have fibromyalgia. For me personally, It's all over body aching, very tender spots and often the tender areas feel almost bruised although they aren't. Sometimes areas are very painful. There are flare ups when it's more painful than usual. There are certain criteria to guage whether or not you have fibro so best to see your gp.

Thanks for the replies. Have had MRI,s, scans, x-rays, blood tests and a nerve test. Nothing conclusive.

My fibro is feeling bruised all over, stiffness and fatigue, and apparent random injuries- rotator cuff, tennis elbow etc.
have it in hand now so the random injuries don’t happen but fatigue and stiffness are constant.
