I have a couple of friends, and my DM, who tell the same stories again and again. My DM, in particular, has to tell the entire story from start to finish and will not be deterred. Her mental acuity is pretty good.
I very occasionally tease my DS by asking DM to tell her about a thing, then sneak out of the room. She does the same to me.
However, on the third occasion of her retelling how she got stuck in the Dartford Tunnel to my DP, I realised that I need a way of cutting this off without offending her.
As a bonus question, I am very sure I tell the same stories to people who have probably heard them before - do you have any methods of giving people absolute permission to stop me in my tracks?
