Lost/stolen phone next steps …

Having a nightmare today. I was out with my 6 month old and 2 year old at a children's event run by our local library. When I got home my phone was not in bag and the zip of the backpack was open.

I want to believe that it wasn’t stolen at a family event from a mum that clearly had a hands full.

However I feel like if it had been picked up then they would have answered when I called my phone or they would have handed it into staff.

What are the next steps?

I’ve logged into find my iphone and marked as lost. I’ve added my husbands number for them to call if they haven’t stolen it.

I then called the service provider to block the old sim and get a new one. This however, has resulted in me not being able to track the phone because the data is off. Does this also mean that the message with my husbands number won’t be displayed too?

Should I call all banks and change all passwords now or shall I wait?

I would cancel it.

However there's a chance that a child picked it up, put it into the bottom of their buggy and a week later there'll be a mum looking at the phone thinking "where on earth did this come from?"

I assume you tried ringing it.
