Would love some pointers plz for our trip to Harry Potter Studios in November. Had booked a hotel near Luton airport as we fly in quite late with 2 small kids but I didn’t realise how far away it is from the studios. We’ll be relying on public transport/taxis also. Get in about midnight so not sure if we should stay close by for first night then check out and stay somewhere else for the next 2 days. Our Harry Potter slot is at 11 am the morning after we fly in though. Can anyone point me in the right direction of where to look maybe as I don’t know London at all and don’t want to stay in a dodgy area

We went to HP World last September & stayed at the Doubletree by Hilton London Elstree - but we were only staying the one night & not looking to explore the wider area. We'd been to Legoland then on to the hotel, next day spent the whole day at HP World & then went home. Perfectly good hotel (bizarrely saw Les Dennis in the hotel restaurant) & only 20mins to HP World.

St Albans Premier Inn could be a good option.

I’ve been looking at that one, it seems to be central and would be easy to get a taxi to. Some reviews mention a nightclub next door though which is a bit off putting but I might be overthinking it. Have looked at Watford aswell but like the idea of staying somewhere where we could grab a bite in the evening and go for a walk etc

It's not a night club it's a bar that's open late it's a great spot for a hotel stay there.

Def stay in the centre is lovely and a taxi wouldn't be expensive

The Noke hotel isn't open any more for residents

If you want recommendations for places to eat let me know

Premier Inn/Travelodge Watford, one is right by town, there are basically dozens of places to eat, usual ones plus some higher end stuff. St Albans is quite far if you’re using public transport.

We stayed at the Holiday in express very close to Watford train station then got a train in to central London the morning after. We only stayed one night though and our HP slot was late so just went straight to the hotel after HP, the shuttle bus from Watford station is very convenient.

For you though getting in late and an early HP slot I would keep your airport hotel for the first night then sort out getting to HP studios in the morning. Going straight there from Luton is easier and quicker than trekking in to central London then back out again.
Then book a hotel in central London for your other 2 nights. Or stay in Watford the other 2 nights I guess because it will be cheaper. Watford to London on the train is just a short journey. You can go to King's Cross so completing your HP journey!

HP will have a place to leave your luggage while you're at the studios.
