Someone used my details and registered on electoral roll in 2006 without my knowledge

Just had a search and I know who did it. Is there a way to correct this information or is it totally pointless now. I have no idea if it’s had any effect on my credit scores in the past.

Was it at an address you lived at? If so I think the household is required to fill in the form correctly (in England at least).

If you didn't live at the address, was it someone you knew who pretended you were living there? Were you on the electoral register somewhere else at the time?

If you don't know the person/address, can you be sure it isn't just a similarly named person?

@Latenightreader I did not live at the address or anywhere near it . My name is very unique and it’s clearly my name with middle name initials. (Only a few people even on Facebook with my name) I believe someone I know (estranged family member) has used my details to register living there under my name.

Also I know that the estranged family member lived there at that time but I’ve never been there…
