Advanced Excel Skills

At my work we are looking for someone with advanced excel skills, the job is in London, it's with a great company, six month full time contract, the pay is okay, but we have only had one suitable applicant. I'm always hearing about people looking for jobs and not getting anywhere but where are these people looking? I'm somewhat baffled.

I think it's £160 a day

Lol 😂
For a 6mth contract as well?
Is it a grad level job with lots of training??

Its pretty simple why nobody is applying OP.

I'm a school admin with intermediate excel skills (who would find it easy to train up to advanced) and I get £15ph plus a lovely pension. £20ph on a 6-month contract is not enough to persuade me to jump ship, even though I live in London, and would love to work from home. I earn £20-30ph doing data entry from home as a contractor on the side.

Could I please ask which company you have your contracting role through? I've just resigned/retired from education and am looking for this type of PT role.

What is classed as advanced excel skills, out of curiosity?

If it’s a work from home role - why not advertise it further afield where people have lower housing costs then London.

I am surprised OP is surprised. Would say they are lucky to get even 1 applicant.

Yup, if it’s 100% remote working then a lot of this type of work is heading to the Indian subcontinent. Good standard of work as well.

It's not complicated vlookups and the likes plus tracking things

what does "tracking things" mean?

I'm interested in knowing what people think are advanced Excel skills. I'd say I'm pretty advanced but I don't use VLOOKUP because the workbooks I design don't need it. What else should I be learning?

XLOOKUP far better 😉 I'd say v/x/hlookups plus pivots tables, match function etc are intermediate skills. Advanced would be Visual Basic.
