Why are sky even giving him airspace

There's a pic of him crying!

I'm afraid the Netherlands is very "sex positive".

He was returned to the Netherlands from the UK in accordance with the extradition agreement that had brought him to face a court. His conviction for rape was adjusted to the conviction he would have had in the Netherlands, that of ""sexual acts that violate social-ethical norms". Until 1 July 2024, Dutch law only recognised rape if coercion through violence or the threat if violence was involved. So grooming a 12 year old girl and getting her drunk didn't count.

Jesus! I wonder how many crimes have gone unpunished over the years due to that appallingly blinkered definition of rape?!

Allthegoodnamesarechosen · 14/08/2024 15:57

I’d pay good money to see him put in the boxing ring against the Algerian gold medal boxer.

Child rapist claims to be a victim of bullying. It's extraordinary isn't it?

Just when you think you've heard it all from the depths....

The surfaces another.

I couldn't give a shiney shite if you nearly quit. I do give a shit about the young girl whose life was ruined.

StressyDepressy · 14/08/2024 15:59

Ahah! I found it

Abstractthinking · 14/08/2024 16:05

I am so going to be flamed, but this is a touch over the top.

Yes what he did was wrong. But there is a large difference between a sadistic child sexual abuser and a teenager who made an error of judgement (albeit serious). Reading about the case, it seems to be non-violent satutory rape. And as for grooming, the victim initially said she was 16.

His own country has judged that he has been sufficiently punished. He can have a life equal to others. That includes marrying who he likes (or who wants to marry him), having a career and having a child.

People seem to relish denigrating him. He was probably hoping his child would never find out, or could be told at an appropriate time/age. That would impossible now. Also the victim in this case would very probably never of heard of him in the Olympics, if such a fuss had not been made.

This argument about caring about either his child or the victim seems to be ill-thought through. Nuance and empathy instead of raging on the Internet.

Allowing a convicted paedophile to compete. Another good decision by the IOC.

Edited

I know, men beating up women and even nonces can compete. Surely the IOC aren't ever going to be seen in a good light for allowing this bullshit to stand

DirtyCheeseBurger · 14/08/2024 16:11

The poor victim. Imagine someone raping you as a child and then seeing themselves into a victim. Its repulsive.

I'm so angry at the Netherlands.

SerenityNowInsanityLater · 14/08/2024 16:14

I can’t find mine either OP. But I can hear his fucking magnum opus with timpani drums! Even louder is his silencing of his victim with his “Waah! Sobby cry cry! If people want me to take responsibility, well, they’re entitled to want that. By the way that’s me STILL not taking responsibility. It was the worst time of MY life. Forget my victim. It’s all about meeee! It’s the biggest mistake I ever made because I got caught. And the louder I speak about how hard it is for me, the more irrelevant and invisible my victim becomes until she gets totally silenced by my noise.”

HolyMoly24 · 14/08/2024 16:22

@Abstractthinking He knew of her true age before he made the journey to the UK to have sex with her.

SerenityNowInsanityLater · 14/08/2024 16:25

Abstractthinking stop snorting those Mother Goose nursery rhymes. You’ve got the insight of an Argos catalogue.

fairislecable · 14/08/2024 16:25

At least after all the publicity no one will be taken in to allow play dates for their children at the home of a malicious conniving paedophile.

He is in plain sight and hopefully will be judged by anyone who comes into contact with him as a possible threat and scum to be avoided.

I can’t believe that a working police officer is married to a child rapist. Aren’t there standards they’ve got to meet?

That man is a nonce and I don’t expect any decency from him. I’m appalled at his teammates and those that support him.

I wonder how the other parents he meets at pick up etc feel about his crimes and preferences.

I don't know about NL but when I applied to be a PSCO in the UK I had to give full details of all my family so they could do background checks including past/spent convictions. And that's for a voluntary role.

If it's similar in the Netherlands how the hell is she allowed to be a police officer with such a scumbag husband?!

BeEasyonYourself · 14/08/2024 16:33

HolyMoly24 · 14/08/2024 16:22

@Abstractthinking He knew of her true age before he made the journey to the UK to have sex with her.

And he knew when he started grooming her when she was 10 🤢

ThreeSides · 14/08/2024 16:36

There's always at least 1 paedo/rape sympathiser on these threads.

Sick bastards.

I didn’t know they started speaking when she was 10! No 10 year old looks 16.

Beyond grim. That poor girl

MushMonster · 14/08/2024 16:39

We should have supported him on this.

We nearly quitted. Now, if we could have got our steel toe cap heavy duty boots on, we could have given him a massive kick in the ass and help him to achieve his quitting. We should be more pro-active next time and actually kick him out before he feels like quitting.
Why they allowed him to take part is beyond me.

It was not a fucking 'error of judgement!'. He started grooming her when she was TEN! Deliberately waited until she was 12 as at that age you can get lower sentences if they consented in NL. It was all very preplanned.

I lived in NL for several years from being a teenager and a blind eye is turned to many things. My rape at age 16 was entirely disregarded by local police.

Don't get me wrong, there are many positive things about Dutch culture. But there is a huge amount of misogyny and racism too.

I don"t know about that. There are plenty of people, even parents, who'd say "It was a mistake", "It was years ago", "He was only a kid himself", "She probably looked older", "My 3 year old Emma will be safe enough, he's not interested in small children".

HollyKnight · 14/08/2024 16:46

She was a fan who contacted him through FB. He then groomed her and arrange to meet her. He waited until her mother wasn't around, then took her virginity. He then told her to go to family planning clinic to get the morning after pill while he fucked off back home.

timenowplease · 14/08/2024 16:51

Why are they calling him a child rapist instead of a paedophile?

He's a convicted paedophile and worse still he served no time whatsoever.

A fucking scandal he was allowed to compete.

If he was hoping his child would never find out, maybe he should have chosen to live a quiet life and not compete at the Olympics in front of a global audience, maybe.

Woww2 · 14/08/2024 16:53

I I I
I made a mistake
it affected my life

not once did he say I fucked up a child’s life and quite rightly was punished for it.

My concern is all this must be so triggering for her

I agree it's such a fuss over nothing tut poor fella. Yeah I am taking the piss but at least you already knew you were gonna get flamed so you seem to have more self awareness than the man in question. I only feel sorry for his victim and his own kid tbh and his wife is a police officer? Officer doofy springs to mind

Or maybe he shouldn’t have raped someone else’s child in the first place.
