Door to door leaflets

Hi all

I'm wondering about

  1. the leaflets that Royal Mail deliver with the normal post; and
  2. door to door leafleting companies that deliver a whole bunch of leaflets for various companies in one go (but no "proper" post)

Bin space is at a premium here and I seem to be getting more and more, especially of no2! I know you can opt out of Royal Mail delivering junk mail but is there a way to stop these leafleters? Should I open the door and turn them away before they can dump it all in my hall? i'm talking chunky catalogues several times a week! I assume they will ignore any polite notices on the door.

Thinking about complaining direct to the leafleting company or the business they are delivering for.

And yes I know it's trivial in the grand scheme of things but I'm currently mostly house bound following an operation so small irritations are grating and I have time on my hands to fill!

Thanks

If you put a notice up then you’ve at least got more grounds for complaint if the leafleters ignore it.

Can we stop the plastic bags for charities too? Apparently a lot of them aren’t actually for charity, it’s people collecting to sell on.

@DustyLee123 I like those! Free binliners! I never fill them because I assume no-one will come back for them.

I've just gone on and given 1 star google reviews to all the leaflet distribution companies in my area in the following terms:

"Memo: nobody wants bloody leaflets shoved through their door. Or worse still, dumped in a pile in the stairs. Just put them in the recycling and cut out the middle man! You're a menace!"

Whilst I'm laid up, I do like to think that I'm doing something for the good of mankind!
