I have a potting shed/summerhouse/whatever you want to call it.
I have a desk in there, a bookcase, a turntable and CD player, all my CDs and a fair amount of my favourite records. I have seeds, tools, and the power tools are stashed in the messanine area ready to come out in the autumn. I have loads of craft stuff in there, to do netmaking and I recently bought a potters wheel so much stuff is being moved around to make one half pottery only. I have a internet mesh station in there so that the whole garden gets the internet. I have a set of manual tools, sharpening stones, and I stash the clean cat bedding in there for when they need it in the winter. I am currently looking for lino to go under the potters wheel in there.
I have a fabric sail to keep it from getting too wet on the decking outside, which gets into the shed itself. The cats shelter under it when it rains. And I have a huge umbrella thingy which I use to give me some shade in the summer afternoons as it gets so hot in there when we have mega hot days. It was so hot in there on Sunday my clay dried out before I could even trim it.
It is at the top of the garden looking down on the house, which is where my OH sits, on the cool terrace in the heat of the summer. And I always have an assortment of cats on the decking either sheltering or sunbathing or getting a drink of water from their food station.
I have a table outside for putting all the flowerpots on. And sometimes a cat or two climbs up onto the roof, and leaps onto the fabric sail like a trampoline and then jumps down onto the pergola and frigtens the life out of me, and sometimes lands on the water butt with a thud.
It is my happy place. I'm off up there in 5 mins. I'll be back down in around 2 hours to start making lunch.
