Tesco towels

DD is off to Uni soon and I'm starting to gather some things for her.
M Tesco have a Clubcard sale on their towels right now and I am tempted to buy them there. Does anyone have any feedback about these?

They are good! I've bought them for student dc in the past and this time I have bought them for myself.

They're towels for uni. The odds are high that they will have a hard life anyway. Launderette washing machines can be dire. Towels may well get 'borrowed'.

IIRC, I got my DC their towels from uni from TKMaxx...

Fab. Thank you.
I'll give them a good wash before she leaves - they are very soft!

I bought the discounted Tesco towels in navy. When I went to use them the navy fluff off them was all over my bathroom floor.
I had to return them. Maybe giving them a wash first will eliminate this issue.

You always need to wash towels before use. They are not properly absorbent until washed. Give them a few washes and make sure your DC know to separate whites and colours.

I will do. Thanks everyone.

Ye they are ok iv not got any bath sheets but a few hand towels.
iv got navy, grey, and another one I think.

they needed a a few washes because they were absorbent enough but that is normal and they weren’t the absolute thickest but iv paid way more for less before!

WelshMoth · 13/08/2024 15:47

Thanks @Ginkypig

Sorry that was meant to say BEFORE they were absorbent enough

I got some last year. They are not the thickest, but not too thin iykwim.
Wash well, dye (teal colour) doesn't run.
A wash before use got rid of the "fluff" problem.

I think I also have some from a better quality range from Tesco (sale last year). These are very thick and fluffy but take forever to dry!

Do you mean the ones they have on the end of an aisle, in just one colour, on offer? I bought some of these a few years ago when setting up a holiday let, but discovered the bath towels were smaller than usual size of bath towel, so I’d advise you to open up to check before buying. Apart from that I was happy with them.
