...that still works? Ours is a hand whisk (one of those with twin beaters) which was part of a mixing set that my DM won in a work raffle in 1983.

Mozza77 · 13/08/2024 06:23

user1497787065 · 13/08/2024 06:36

A freezer from 1994.

Ohyeahwaitaminute · 13/08/2024 06:47

Anybody else thinking ‘Pah…1994 isn’t THAT old?’ 🤣🤣

I have a hand mixer with the price still on it from…well… probably 1994. It cost £6.99

Sewfrickinamazeballs · 13/08/2024 06:58

Snap. DH inherited his mum's, he uses it most weeks, it must be 70s, possibly older than me.

Oldest is definitely my Gran's sewing machine from 1952.
Items I've bought myself - hairdryer from 1999, Stereo (including cassette and minidisk player) from 2000. GHD straighteners and Miele hoover both at least 15yo.

Wells37 · 13/08/2024 07:08

I have an electric whisk which was my husband's nans. I think it's probably about 50 years old. Still use regularly use it.
Our tumble dryer is 21 years old but don't really use it much, only occasionally in the winter now. Used it lots when the kids were little though.

BigGapMum · 13/08/2024 07:38

I've got a table lamp that was in my parents home when I grew up in the 1960s. It wasn't new when they got it. I don't know exactly when it was made, but it has a little plaque that says it was made from teak of HMS Ironduke which was destroyed in the Battle of Jutland in 1916. I presume it was made shortly after WW1 so about 100 years old. Still works.

OvernightOatsAgain · 13/08/2024 07:48

My sewing machine .... bought jointly with my mum as we both loved to sew when I lived at home. Can't remember what year we bought it, but I left home when I was 26 and I'm now 70, so it must by 45 years old at least by now.

Zen · 13/08/2024 07:50

I have my mum’s sewing machine from the 1960s, a whisk and electric carving knife from the 90s and my fridge freezer was bought in 2000.

franke · 13/08/2024 07:51

Sewing machine, 1980s
Miele vacuum cleaner, late 1990s
Sandwich toaster that came free with a stationery order, late 1990s

Yirk · 13/08/2024 07:51

The wiring!! Never even touched for 40 + years.

Cornishcoast1 · 13/08/2024 07:53

My GHDs from 2004!

Sethera · 13/08/2024 07:54

I've got a Walkman from 1991 if that counts. Also a Kenwood blender that was a present from my then-boyfriend's mum in 1998.

NancyBellaDonna · 13/08/2024 07:57

My sewing machine. Still going strong since 1970.

Ineffable23 · 13/08/2024 07:59

1980s Kenwood here. It's older than me!

My parents have a fan from somewhere between 1900s to 1910s which must be a contender for overall winner?! Still works.

Expo23 · 13/08/2024 08:02

My dishwasher is 26 years old. We've been through a lot 😂

Dreamlight · 13/08/2024 08:03

I have a coffee drip machine that I bought in 1989. My son is now using it in his flat. I also have several side lamps from early 1990s still going strong!

ItWasntMyFault · 13/08/2024 08:03

Slow Cooker from 1984.

Mozza77 · 13/08/2024 08:04

And to buy one these days I’d need to sell a kidney! This one outlived my mums marriage to my dad, my brother ‘owning’ (trashing) it for a few years, mum had it refurbed and serviced it and it still runs like a dream!

fisherking1 · 13/08/2024 08:04

A Magimix nearly 23 years old.
