Looking out of the bedroom window but can't see anything yet. I missed it last time so really hope I see something tonight

Saw a few shooting stars around 10pm but might go and have another look if it's going to be spectacular... Anyone in the South West?

mdinbc · 12/08/2024 23:26

thank you - I'm in Canada but heard there was a good showing last night... the weather is currently cloudy here, but if I wake up tonight I'll pop outside and have a look!

Glittertwins · 12/08/2024 23:31

Turn your phone to night mode and use that.

invisiblecat · 12/08/2024 23:35

Ooh. I've been out already and seen one meteor, but we probably have too much light pollution round here to see the aurora.

WingBingo · 12/08/2024 23:43

I’m currently on holiday near Stirling.

this is looking out towards The Trossachs

There’s a chance to see it tonight. Only through a camera with night mode & no flash.

That's lovely. I can't sleep so just been to look but think I'm too late.

That is so beautiful.

I didn't bother looking because I didn't think it would be visible this far south (Glos).

MooseBeTimeForSnow · 13/08/2024 02:18

@mdinbc this was last night, near Banff. This is the first time I’ve seen them here in 8 years. I actually got up to try and spot meteors. Got a different light show instead!
We also spend time much further North in Alberta. My social feed is full of very cool pictures from last night. Tonight’s forecast is similar, if not better.

I was out looking at midnight in the midlands and didn't see anything (through my phone camera)
