Please help my phone if broken

I’m writing this on my iPad in case you’re wondering

My phone completely died this afternoon, I can’t order a new one because the payment requires being approved by my bank and TSB wants me to verifying its me when I log in by sending a code to my mobile which is broken.

I can’t even update my shop from Sainsbury’s because I can’t log in without verifying who I am via my phone

What am I supposed to do?

Request they authenticate another way, by email possibly? Can you use the chat option with your bank?

If they need you to authenticate via a txt message, then you just need access to another phone and swap the sim, or perhaps your iPad has a sim slot?

longdistanceclaraclara · 12/08/2024 16:36

Put your sim in someone else's phone?

Find another way to pay that doesn't need online approval. Any standard card payment should be fine. If all types of online payments need approval then try and buy over the phone or in a shop.

You can download the relevant apps to your iPad, then if on WiFi you can authenticate them, or as pp said slot the sim from your phone into the iPad and basically it becomes a giant version of your phone. You will need to make sure you have messages app on the iPad. Job done either way. I have just done this as I wanted a back up of everything on my phone, just in case I cocked up swapping my iPhone over to a new iPhone and lost everything.
