National Express from Stanstead

Taking the National Express A7 from Stanstead to London next month for a weekend in London with dd.

Does anyone know if you need to book in advance? Coaches seem to be every 30 minutes but prices differ and obviously flight could be running late so can you jump on any coach and just upgrade your ticket if there's a price difference?

Haven't done it for a while, but I did book ahead because fare was cheaper. You can book a specific coach (cheapest option), or an open one which is what you need from an airport. If you go on the National Express website, you can put in the journey, and it'll give you all the options with prices.
