Will her baby curls stay?

So my DD is 17 months old and has very cute, very blonde, curly ish hair. Her curls are at the ends of her hair and I worry that when I eventually have her hair cut, that'll be the end of them. Do you think they'll last or are they an 'enjoy for now' feature?

The first photo was from Christmas and the second was this morning

Mine had curls until her hair grew longer, then it was wavy. After first haircut at 4, they went. Now her hair is neither straight nor wavy... It's just messy 😂

Mine was super curly when I was a toddler and now if I get a layered haircut it's wavy. With a straight cut it's nearly straight though some odd strands forever curl randomly at the tips.

One DD is 9 and still has her curls.

Other DD lost hers when she had her first proper haircut (which was relatively recently, I'd just trimmed myself before then)

DS had curls until his first haircut aged 2.

My DD had a beautiful head of ringlets as a toddler but now she’s 6 it’s just wavy really. My husband has loose curls and mine is very straight

Mine had strawberry blonde baby curls which never grew very long, but once they were cut aged about 5 it became straight and much darker. This is despite everyone in both our families having either curly or wavy hair. My other DC has proper ringlets but didn't have much curl when it was short, they only emerged once it was past shoulder length. So you never know really.

Thanks for all the feedback 😊 it's amazing to hear some of the changes your children's hair has been through! Didn't realise it was quite so changeable! Even if it does get straighter as she grows up, I won't lose hope of them returning at some point

It looks pretty similar to my son's hair when he was a baby. Blonde, mostly straight but with curls at the ends. In his case they definitely didn't go but although he occasionally has 'nice curls', like right after a shower, his general style is 'bird's nest'. And if you try and brush it it just poofs up and looks very silly 😄

Him aged about the same age as yours and recently aged 7.

I had lovely blonde curly hair as a baby and up to around 3 yrs old, but it changed, darkened and is straight with just a tendency to wave up at the ends, now. Curly/wavy hair came from my mother's side but didn't persist!

My LO had baby curls and now has long wavy ringlets- age 28!
awww OP your little one is adorable. Loving all these wee curls on here.

Just a little update, I had DD's hair cut today (she's 25 months now) all her baby curls are gone so we'll see what happens to her hair next!

Any other experiences are always welcome ❤️
