Accidentally put address details online

Hi am a bit worried because I just noticed I'd inadvertently put my address on Twitter recently while replying to a request for help from a company where they'd told me to PM my address 🤦🏼‍♀️ I'm going through some stressful stuff just now so I obviously wasn't thinking straight.

This actually happened over a week ago and I only noticed now (don't use Twitter/X very often). I quickly went in and deleted my address, made my profile private and blocked all the random accounts that follow me. Do I need to do anything else, should I be worried? Shit shit shit what an idiot.

What do you think will happen?

Travellingwithkidsintoe · 11/08/2024 22:50

For the vast majority of people - Chill. Worst that will happen is a bit of junk mail.

If you happen to have a dangerous ex/previous stalker/other dangerous person who shouldn't know where you live, speak to the police non emergency number for advice incase something happens.

Spottyhorse24 · 12/08/2024 06:56

No dangerous exes or anything. Was just worried at how many people could potentially see it. But I'll see if any junk mail appears or anything. Have calmed down a bit after the initial panic. 😊

Why are you worried?

HowIrresponsible · 12/08/2024 08:50

It's shockingly easy to find someone's address anyway.

SaintHonoria · 12/08/2024 08:52

Nothing will happen. It's just a random address.

Spottyhorse24 · 12/08/2024 21:03

Yeah all fine now just freaked out at the thought at first!
