I'm no gardener! There is a timer to water the garden but I'm told pots are not covered so I need to do those separately. No problem. There are two hoses, one set up to the timer thing and another. Tried to use the other and nothing happened whichever way I turned the tap and or the other turning thing that's part of the hoses. I gave up and used the can but today I've realised in my fiddling I've managed to stop the timer thing as it hasn't come on. Any advice before I have to do the whole bloody thing with a can?

A photo might help.

A photo of the hose set up, not a photo of the garden. Or the pots or anything.

Does the head of the manual hose have a lever? You need to push that forward for the water to come out. I've no idea about the timer one.

Are you expected to water plants while renting an Airbnb?

Lever shown here.

Contact the host.
They'd much rather know than come back to dead pots.

I hope you're not paying very much to plant-sit this house!

Thank you all -unfortunately there was no lever as shown above but ds fiddled some more and the timed one came on then we used the can for the pots. If the timer doesn't come on tomorrow I'll let the owner know.

To be honest I am a bit taken aback by the amount of watering required here as there are house plants too and I am shit with those as well and I keep noticing more that I hadn't previously seen, which is worrying - been here since the middle of last week and have two days to go.

It is a lovely house though and obviously if the owners have plants and Airbnbs the property, which I'm glad they do, there is no alternative but for the guests to water them. I just pray I haven't fucked any up...

They should have a gardener, not expect guests to water the plants. Message the owner for help, it's their plants.
