Any doctors? Nurses? Tetanus....

My DD aged 14 just got a puncture wound from a screw sticking out from a cabinet. It was deep enough to ooze a little blood. I washed it under running water, with some liquid soap, and have put savlon on the wound.

I am not worried about the actual wound which is trivial, but is she likely to need a booster shot of tetanus?

She is immunosuppressed on biologic meds and azathioprine for IBD, if it's relevant.

Normally only needed for a deep dirty wound so I wouldn't have thought she'd need one

She should have had one at school recently. Along with her meningitis ACWY vaccine.

Doesn’t sound like a tetanus prone wound anyway.

Thanks. She actually has to take the ACWY again in 6 months as she had that round of vaccines on the second week of 8 x 40 mg (?) tablets of prednisolone for a flare of her IBD. Is that likely to have prevented the tetanus vaccine from working properly too?

I’d expect her to have her tetanus repeated if she needs her ACWY repeating.
