DP has 2 dd aged 10 and 13 , we have 2 ds together aged 5 and 7.

DP wants to take his girls away for the week in half term this year and then for us to go away next year October half term again with our 2 ds.

I want to go away next year at Easter with all 4 dc. My reasons are that I want a family holiday and think it should be everyone together not split up. DP thinks it’s better to have the 2 as his girls will want to do very different things to our ds. DP has his girls every feb half term, Easter holidays, May half term and October half terms as well as eow

Imo if you want the dc to feel part of the same family that means holidays together.. We have various ages and all manage to have a great trip!

That’s what I thought , more days away at Easter all together rather than less time separated?

I grew up with a 10 year age gap, and this hasn't meant I am not close to my siblings. We are far closer than DH and his sibling with a two year gap. I think it may be harder in a blended family but still possible depending on the attitude of the older DC (his) and the two of you.
It sounds like your DP has already decided that his DD's will not enjoy activities with their half brothers, so I don't think you will be able to change the attitude he has, and has presumably passed on to his girls.

Does dh make the dd's feel superior to the ds's because they are older? Or because they are his alone?
