Frivolous first world problem but which would you choose?

Same make model :-

  1. white with black roof and wing mirrors

Or

Ds3? I had black with white trim. Engine went bang after 10 months.

No - Mini Cooper.
Not an extensive choice of colours.

White! Any chips/scratches are less visible. I am the despairing owner of a navy car which seems to be an absolute magnet for scratches in car parks…

Good point - thank you

White but get the Mini paint protection - I had a grey Cooper S and it was pristine for the 3 years that I had it. I know they try to upsell a lot at Mini dealers but the paint treatment is one worth shelling out for.

I thought the choice of colours was so limited I went for the green one. However according to my sales person it is manufactured but no cars are being released at the moment due to problem. I think he said abs and to avoid a recall they have stopped sending cars out.

Interesting.

The white on the Mini looks stunning especially with the black. I've bought an aaproved used chilli red one recently but would've serious trouble deciding if a white one was available at the same time. Enjoy your new toy!

When I was buying my car (not a Mini, although my very first car was a white Mini), I had a choice of white, navy and silver (didn’t want to wait for a factory order). My decision was made in the way to work on a foggy, drizzly day: white is just so much more visible in poor weather.

I dislike the yellow mini (it looks ‘corporate’ to me) so it has to be the white if they are the only 2 options.

Koko83 · 11/08/2024 19:03

yellow :D

alexdgr8 · 11/08/2024 19:04

yellow is the safest colour.
conspicuity.
white disappears in fog and drizzle.
yellow is smart too. unusual.

I’ve had white cars and a yellow car. Yellow paint fades over time so if any part of it ever needs respraying, the colour they mix is the factory colour but it won’t necessarily match the car anymore! Found that out the hard way and had one wing that was a very slightly different shade of yellow. Subtle and probably not overly noticeable to other people, but it drove me mad!

Yellow

EasilyDisturbed · 11/08/2024 19:08

I'd go for yellow for greater visibility, white might be better than silver in drizzle but yellow is far better than either. Easier to spot in car parks too.
