Does anybody know what advanced directives can be put into place re. Dementia

A comment on another thread got me thinking.

I will be using my right to choose how/when I die, if the need arises - this is legal where I live.

Dementia is a tricky one. I would like to write an advanced directive regarding this - as there is no way I want to put my family through the protracted hell of witnessing a slow degenerative death.

Has anybody done this?

Yes, I'm 40 and just did one with this

compassionindying.org.uk/how-we-can-help/living-will-advance-decision/#does-a-doctor-have-to-follow-my-living-will

Basically no life extending treatment for a huge brain injury, dementia, Parkinsons, MND etc
My doctors said they've had a few people use the website and were absolutely fine with it

Thank you. I will check this out.

It's an interesting one as VAD is off the cards. I wonder at what point in the dementia journey the no extraordinary measures kicks in.
