In the closing ceremony King Athelstan, accompanied by Prime Minister Norman the Foreman invites Jeroen and Beate as members of the Paralympic community to extinguish the Olympic flame.

King Athelstan declares the games closed.

Just realised there are prosthetic limbs and blades - Paramolympics is very inclusive

For anyone interested in the parcel, as well as a set which had nothing to do with the Olympics (but was on special offer) it contained this set (with Jeroen) Javelin thrower - 71580 | PLAYMOBIL® and this set (with Beate) Orthopedics - 71617 | PLAYMOBIL®

The set containing Beate was only released for sale on 20th August, so I wasn't even sure it would arrive in time! But fortunately it did.

What an honour for Beate and Jeroen to be asked to extinguish the flame. I expect PM Norman gave one of his wonderful speeches too.

Thankyou so much @SoMuchToBits , your skill and imagination is appreciated by so many, you must feel as proud as the athletes do at your achievements. Good luck packing all the thousands of athletes, spectators , officials and their equipment away in the shed- ready for the next Playmoepic!

What a fantastic event the Playmo Paralympics has been!

That was a fantastic conclusion to the celebrations. Well done to Jeroen and Beate, and all the Playmo para athletes. Will miss them but hoping to see them again another time! Thank you @SoMuchToBits !

Just caught up on the last couple of days. Loved the action shots of wheelchair rugby. So sorry it has had to end but thank you @SoMuchToBits for all of your hard work bringing it to life for us!

Can I say a huge thank you for the lovely Playmobil Olympics and Paralympics. Have absolutely loved it all. I send screen shots to DH at work during the day and he too is appreciative.

I'm thinking to do a few threads reflecting general life rather than just "big events" such as Olympics/royal weddings next. Any ideas are welcome, although it will depend greatly on which sets I have!

What do they get up to at Halloween in Playmoland??

@SoMuchToBits just wondering if you can do an enactment loosely based on the Archers if you're into that? There would be plenty of scope for your wonderful imaginative scenes, you can look up the cast of characters and do your own storylines.

Or everyday scenes based on MN themes like parking issues, next door neighbours (NDN), employment issues in the Playmo office, etc.

I guess the benefit of basing your scenes on well-know events like the Coronation, Election Day, the Olympics/Paralympics is that it does give you a basic framework, rather than having to make it all up from scratch.

Not a lot for Hallowe'en as I don't have very many relevant sets (only the odd witch or two).

I gave up listening to The Archers some time ago, and I think there is someone else around online who does a Playmobil Archers thing (yes, really!) but I may think about doing some everyday type scenes. That's kind of what happened with the pandemic dioramas, as I was reacting to what was happening in the real world.

But I will have a think and see what I can come up with!
